Role Summary
Morson Talent is recruiting a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for an aerospace client based in Luton. The role is a 12‑month contract with potential extension.
Responsibilities
- Lead front‑end manufacturing engineering activities, guiding the transition of new products from design to production.
- Provide DfX input—design for manufacturing, assembly and test—to designers.
- Resolve production capability issues, bottlenecks and constraints on the shop floor.
- Develop manufacturing processes: study product requirements, research and design methods, modify and test equipment, and incorporate operator feedback.
- Participate in Manufacturing Maturity Reviews, maintain governance through Lifecycle Management processes, and contribute to Manufacturing Plans.
- Assist with production schedules, labour and material cost reviews, future requirement estimation, and product/process reporting.
- Build prototype products, write work instructions and train manufacturing staff.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency through capacity analysis, simulation planning, workflow optimisation, space requirements assessment, and equipment/process layout.
