We're working with a major UK retailer to find an experienced Power BI Developer to support enterprise‐scale reporting and analytics built on a Databricks Lakehouse architecture hosted on AWS. This is a hands‐on delivery role, ideal for a Power BI specialist who enjoys building high‐performance datasets, semantic models, and dashboards that drive real business insight — all within a regulated change environment.

Role

You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and optimising Power BI datasets, models, and dashboards, working closely with data engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders to deliver high‐quality, governed reporting solutions. You'll also operate in line with established compliance, governance, and change methodologies, ensuring best‐practice delivery throughout the engagement.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Design and build Power BI semantic models and datasets connected to a Databricks Lakehouse
  • Develop advanced DAX and Power Query (M) transformations
  • Deliver interactive dashboards and reports aligned to business needs
  • Implement and manage Row‐Level Security (RLS)
  • Collaborate with data engineers to optimise Delta Tables, SQL endpoints, and ETL pipelines
  • Support performance tuning across Power BI and Databricks
  • Maintain clear documentation, lineage, and governance standards

Experience

  • 5–7+ years' experience as a Power BI Developer
  • Advanced knowledge of DAX, Power Query, and semantic modelling
  • Hands‐on experience connecting Power BI to Databricks on AWS
  • Strong SQL skills (T‐SQL and/or Spark SQL)
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modelling, and Lakehouse concepts
  • Experience with Power BI Service, deployment pipelines, and RLS
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into impactful analytics
  • Azure DevOps, Git, or CI/CD for Power BI
  • Databricks Unity Catalog, Delta Live Tables, or MLflow
  • Exposure to data governance or regulated environments
