Overview

As a Junior Site Engineer specialising in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) engineering on Tranche 5 of the T2 Baggage Programme (T2BP). This major £700m+ infrastructure programme supports the extension and protection of the existing Terminal 1 baggage operation until the new T2A baggage system is fully operational.

In this site-based role, you will be involved in all stages of the project lifecycle, from early investigations through to delivery and handover. Your primary focus will be on site delivery, ensuring works are completed safely, to quality standards, and on schedule without impacting airport operations. You will work closely with the client and supply chain partners, embracing a \’one team\’ approach aligned with Heathrow\’s values and behaviours.

This role offers a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you will develop your engineering skills, contribute to continuous improvement, and support the successful delivery of a complex, high-profile infrastructure project.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake MEP site engineering duties on Tranche 5 of the T2 Baggage Programme
  • Support site delivery activities ensuring safety, quality, and programme compliance
  • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and supply chain partners to achieve project goals
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to site works
  • Identify and raise concerns or challenges on site to ensure compliance and safety
  • Seek opportunities to improve quality and productivity through best practices and process improvements
  • Embrace and promote the client\’s \’one team\’ culture and values

Skills

  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree or currently studying towards qualification
  • Strong record-keeping and awareness of the importance of accurate documentation
  • Effective team working skills with engineers, supervisors, and supply chain partners
  • Confidence to ask questions, raise concerns, and challenge unsafe or non-compliant work
  • Ability to identify and implement quality and productivity improvements
  • Quick learner, adaptable to a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality work and exceeding expectations
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
  • Ability to work safely and comply with health and safety regulations
