Do you have the commercial, stakeholder management, and procurement expertise needed to drive smarter supply chain solutions and support innovative naval technology programmes? We are looking for a proactive and commercially focused Procurement Manager to join our Supply Chain team at TKMS ATLAS UK. This role has become available as part of continued business growth and investment in improving procurement capability across the organisation.

The Supply Chain team plays a critical role in supporting business operations through effective supplier management, procurement strategy, and stakeholder engagement. This role will focus primarily on IT procurement and Facilities-related categories, supporting the business in driving efficiencies, improving supplier performance, and implementing better ways of working across the organisation.

This is a role where you will have the opportunity to make a real strategic impact. You will work closely with stakeholders across the business, leading regular meetings to understand future requirements, project pipelines, and procurement priorities. You will help shape procurement strategies, challenge existing approaches where appropriate, and bring stakeholders on the journey through clear communication, commercial insight, and relationship management.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing procurement activity across predominantly IT and Facilities categories.
  • Managing the full contract lifecycle, including negotiation, renewal planning, and ongoing commercial optimisation.
  • Developing and implementing category strategies aligned to business objectives and cost optimisation targets.
  • Leading stakeholder meetings to review upcoming projects, forecast future requirements, and identify procurement opportunities.
  • Running supplier tenders and RFP processes, including supplier reviews and replacement activity where required.
  • Supporting the implementation of supplier or process changes across the business.
  • Managing supplier relationships to improve service, delivery, commercial value, and overall performance.
  • Implementing supplier performance frameworks, including KPIs, SLAs, and structured supplier reviews, alongside proactive supplier risk management.
  • Using procurement data and spend analysis to generate insights, track performance, and inform strategic decisions.
  • Supporting Purchase Order activity and ensuring procurement compliance.
  • Conducting market research and staying informed on new technologies, supplier developments, and industry best practice.
  • Supporting procurement presentations and updates for senior stakeholders, including CFO-level engagement.
  • Reviewing current supplier arrangements and identifying opportunities to consolidate suppliers, improve efficiency, and deliver cost savings, cost avoidance, and value improvements across procurement categories.
  • Supporting strategic reviews of outsourced services, including IT support and Facilities services such as security and cleaning.
  • Identifying procurement and supply chain risks and supporting mitigation activity.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives and helping stakeholders adopt new ways of working.

About You

You will be someone who is confident working with a wide range of personalities and capable of positively influencing stakeholders at all levels. The successful candidate will be comfortable balancing operational delivery with strategic thinking and able to communicate clearly around procurement objectives, priorities, and decision-making.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Exposure to procurement.
  • CIPS qualification, or willingness to work towards CIPS accreditation.
  • Strong commercial awareness and confidence managing procurement contracts, supplier negotiations, and full contract lifecycle activities.
  • Experience developing and implementing procurement or category strategies aligned to business objectives.
  • Experienced in identifying and delivering cost savings, cost avoidance, and value improvements, and presenting them in a clear and concise way for Finance sign-off and senior stakeholder approval.
  • Experience managing IT procurement or indirect procurement categories but not opposed to direct.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
  • Experience running tender and RFP processes and confidence in contract management.
  • Experience implementing supplier governance and performance frameworks, including KPIs, SLAs, supplier reviews, and risk management.
  • Strong analytical, reporting, and presentation skills, with experience using procurement and spend data to generate insights and support strategic decision-making.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively and bring stakeholders on board during periods of change.
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems would be beneficial but is not essential.
