IT Business Analyst – £500 per day – Inside IR35 – Hybrid working from a site near Gloucester – 12 months initial contract. Our client, a leading ZERO CARBON energy provider is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join them on a contract basis. You will lead the analysis, development, and delivery of IT initiatives, collaborating with senior managers, solution architects, and project managers to enable solutions that deliver measurable business outcomes. This is a key leadership role within the Business Analysis competency group, where you will mentor and develop other business analysts, contribute to strategic IT planning, and shape the future of our IT landscape. Key Responsibilities – Project Leadership: Lead the Business Analysis workstream across multiple IT and business change projects. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and implement optimal solutions that align with business objectives, cost, and risk appetite. Manage requirements throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring traceability and alignment with business needs. Provide thought leadership to complex issues, considering people, processes, technology, and business impacts. Pre-Project Analysis: Conduct pre-project consultancy and analysis to shape initial project concepts and strategies. Develop business cases for large-scale change initiatives, translating intangible benefits into tangible value. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior managers, project managers, and third-party suppliers to ensure robust solution design and delivery. Facilitate stakeholder workshops, interviews, and presentations to ensure clear communication and informed decision-making. Support business acceptance of developed solutions, including process walkthroughs and acceptance testing. Strategic Contribution: Act as a subject matter expert in strategic IT planning, ensuring alignment with long-term goals and roadmaps. Contribute to the development of the Business Analysis competency group, driving capability enhancement and knowledge sharing. Required Skills and Qualifications – Formal Qualifications: ISEB Diploma in Business Analysis, IIBA certification, or equivalent (desirable). Experience with formal project management methodologies such as PRINCE2 or EEPW. Core Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically. Excellent communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills, with experience engaging senior executives and business managers. Leadership and decision-making capability, with the ability to work independently and lead teams. Proficiency in business process analysis, design techniques, and the use of collaborative tools. Experience in developing business cases and conducting financial modelling. Experience: Proven track record in business analysis within a complex organisation, preferably within the energy sector. Experience in leading RFI and ITT processes, including supplier evaluation and selection. Knowledge of organisational change practices and their relationship to process and technology change. Familiarity with requirements lifecycle management and business impact assessment
