BAE Systems are recruiting for IPC / J-STD experienced Electronic Assembly Technicians to work at their Dalgety Bay facility (postcode is KY11 9HQ) on a range of defence electronic projects. Candidates MUST have prior IPC / J-STD experience; any candidates without this experience or familiarity WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

Role Description

  • Manufacture, repair or modify complex Radar, Avionics and Underwater electronic assemblies.
  • Skills to exceed industry standards such as IPC and ANSIJ.
  • Requires flexibility to move between product range/contract.
  • Able to work with no supervision and limited engineering support.

Core Duties

  • Assemble/process electronic assemblies in accordance with defined work instructions or detailed technical drawings.
  • Repair/modify current and legacy electronic assemblies.
  • Be able to work with limited data utilising experience.
  • Use business systems to record product history/compliance.
  • Support and assist in the training of personnel.
  • Work unsupervised.

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications

  • Be formally qualified in appropriate Workmanship Standard e.g. ANSI J, IPC or similar (Preferred on qualification – experience is essential).
  • Have a good understanding of an assembly discipline such as wiring, fitting, PCB assembly, or similar.
  • Have a medium range of product experience and medium expertise in discipline.
  • Understand and comply with all relevant Business Management System (BMS) procedures.
  • May have previous experience as a “Production Operative”.
  • Able to perform assembly/disassembly or modification tasks on electronic or mechanical components, subassemblies and systems – encompassing new build, and repairs products.

About the team you’ll be working in

Part of the Electronic Assembly Team, 50 in the overall department. This role will be full time on site, no hybrid available.

Further Details:

  • Rate: ÂŁ16.54/hour PAYE (ÂŁ2.99’s worth of Holiday Pay on top ÂŁ19.53 per hour) or ÂŁ22.06 p/hour Umbrella.
  • Duration: 12 months *potential for extension and potential prospects*.
  • Hours: Standard Day’s is Mon to Thurs 07.30am – 16.15pm & Friday 07.30am – 12.30pm.
  • Location: BAE Systems 29 North Way, Dalgety Bay, Dunfermline KY11 9HQ.
