Interim Communications Lead

£39.98/hr Umbrella | £30.22/hr PAYE

Duration: 6 Months

Hours: 35hrs per week

Location: Broughton (60% onsite with regular travel to Belfast)

A leading global manufacturer is seeking an experienced Interim Communications Lead to play a key role in a major organisational transition project. You\\\’ll support the successful onboarding of a newly acquired business in Belfast, shaping and executing the communications strategy across internal, external, and community channels. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-profile programme where you\\\’ll be empowered to make an immediate impact, influence stakeholders at all levels, and ensure consistent, engaging messaging through a period of transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the establishment of communications structure and outputs for the Belfast site, aligning local needs with the wider UK communications approach.
  • Develop and deliver short and long-term internal communications plans to support onboarding and engagement of new colleagues.
  • Define and deliver key messaging and communications materials to support the transition phase.
  • Collaborate with UK and global communications colleagues, as well as public affairs teams, to maintain consistent and aligned messaging.
  • Support media and community engagement, ensuring messaging reflects the organisation\\\’s values and local impact.
  • Advise project and senior stakeholders on communication strategy, tone, and delivery.
  • Provide event management support for key milestones and engagement initiatives.

Experience & Skills

  • Strong background in communications (internal, external, and community relations).
  • Demonstrable experience supporting M&A, transformation, or change programmes.
  • Understanding of Northern Ireland\\\’s business and community landscape.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to act quickly and pragmatically in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent writing, storytelling, and content creation skills.
  • Experience engaging with local media and managing press activity.
  • Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Event planning and execution experience.
  • Able to hit the ground running and thrive in fast-paced, high-profile projects.
  • Pragmatic, proactive, and adaptable with strong influencing skills.
