Location: Bridgwater, Somerset (TA5 1UD) - 4days/week on site / 1 day at home
Salary: £55000 - £70000 + £1500/mo travel allowance
Start: October 2025 onwards
An exciting opportunity exists for a number of HVAC Engineers with onsite installation experience to work in support of EDFs Hinkley C nuclear power station construction project.
Individuals who have progressed from trades roles into supervisory, project engineering and/or site management positions would be of particular interest, though this is not essential to being considered.
The positions will be based at the Hinkley C site near Bridgwater, Somerset (TA5 1UD) 4 days/week, with the rest worked from home. Candidates will be required to obtain nuclear site security clearance for this role.
Whilst previous nuclear industry experience would be useful, this is not essential - experience obtained supporting other large regulated industry projects (e.g. oil and gas, rail, defence, petrochemical, marine, etc) would be equally well suited and happily considered.
Candidate Profile
- Someone who has onsite installation experience
- Understands construction sequencing of mechanical and/or electrical installation
- Can read and interpret construction drawings / BIM models
- Ability to deal with multiple stakeholders
- Individuals who have come off the tools and progressed to supervisor / site manager roles that really understand the detail would be ideally suited to the role
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Degree or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience in onsite installation of HVAC or other similar / relevant systems
- Proven track record of progressing from hands-on trade roles into supervisory or site management position will be an advantage
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings / BIM models
- Knowledge of the construction / installation industry
- Understanding construction sequencing of electrical and mechanical installation.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation including CDM and Nuclear Site License requirements.
- Ability to influence a diverse range of stakeholders, particularly those in a site environment.
- Ability to work independently, be pro-active, report on and escalate relevant issues.
