Role: Head of Portfolio Management Sector: Onshore Wind, Solar PV, Battery Storage, Hydrogen Location: Ideally the candidate will be based in Essen, Germany OR London, England. However, there is flexibility to consider candidates in other locations if they can travel to the office bi weekly/monthly. My client is an established European renewable energy developer/IPP with an international presence and over 2000 employees globally. They currently have a 10GW pipeline globally and are looking for a Head of Project Development to support with their continued growth within the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Denmark Tasks and responsibilities: Head of the Portfolio Management division, including technical and disciplinary management Provision of a central source of information that provides an overview of the existing and potential portfolio and its performance (historical and planned) Evaluation of financial and technical performance (e.g. return profile, technical KPIs, project progress, performance ratio) Risk management and evaluation to derive diversification strategies Identifying and scrutinizing performance changes and deviations from the plan or the previous performance calculation Deriving investment or disposal proposals and other measures to optimize the portfolio Deriving bidding strategies from a portfolio perspective to secure attractive FITs or PPAs in close coordination with the Energy Management division Defining requirements for (framework) contracts such as EPC, O&M and insurance and other contracts (technical and legal advice) in close coordination with the Strategic Procurement team Creating and maintaining business plans to determine capital requirements, sales and earnings contributions (short and medium-term investment planning) Provision of a schedule that synchronizes the dimensions of development, construction, risk assessment (e.g. based on due diligence) and capital procurement Detailed profitability calculation or financial modeling for each project in the portfolio Preparation of the project budget and liquidity requirements from investor supervision Ensuring a smooth handover of the project between phases (from PD to EPC, from EPC to O&M, from overarching project management to asset management) Requirements and skills: Completed commercial studies or comparable training Experience in the field of renewable energies Reliable, systematic and independent way of working Analytical and conceptual way of thinking Very good knowledge of German and English, other foreign languages desirable
