Our client is seeking a dynamic and proficient communications professional to join their team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a pivotal time for the company as they roll out their refreshed brand, updated strategy, and new corporate positioning. They are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and amplify their impact across government and industry – both regionally and nationally.

Reporting to the Director for Strategy and Corporate Affairs you’ll lead their communications activity across high-profile campaigns and nationally significant initiatives, helping to shape how they tell their story, engage our audiences, and position the company as a central player in the UK’s industrial strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead delivery of the companies communications strategy during a period of transformation.
  • Promote the companies updated brand and refreshed strategic direction through compelling narratives and targeted engagement.
  • Drive consistent, high-quality messaging across all channels – digital, media, and stakeholder communications.
  • Build visibility and influence across key audiences, particularly industry stakeholders, UK Government departments, regional leadership, and research & innovation partners.
  • Oversee delivery of content and campaigns linked to their new corporate materials, website, and public affairs activity.
  • Work closely with internal communications to effectively reach a diverse, highly skilled workforce.
  • Work closely with internal teams such as Head of Marketing and external partners to ensure communications support high-impact delivery across our priority programmes.
About You

You’ll be a confident, strategic communicator with knowledge working in fast-paced, mission-driven environments. You’ll be comfortable managing senior stakeholders and adept at translating complex content into compelling communications.

Essential:
  • Proven knowledge in senior communications roles, ideally within innovation, engineering, R&D, or public sector environments.
  • A strong track record of delivering integrated communications strategies and campaigns.
  • Knowledge in brand positioning and reputation management.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and content development skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional projects and manage multiple priorities with pace and precision.
  • Familiarity with working alongside government and industry stakeholders.
  • Working under a matrix structure without direct reports.
