Morson Edge Finance are proud to be the trusted exclusive recruitment partner to Urenco and are currently supporting the appointment of a Group Financial Accountant. Urenco is a global leader in the production of low‑carbon energy, operating at the forefront of the transition to a sustainable, net‑zero world. They are seeking a Group Financial Accountant to join their team at their Paddington Head Office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate consolidated accounts in accordance with IFRS and the Group Accounting Manual, including the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements. The role will also play a key part in the Interim and Year‑End external audit process.

What you'll do

  • Working alongside a high calibre Group Finance team, you will play a key role in the preparation of consolidated financial statements, external reporting and the year‑end and interim audit processes.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA looking to build upon their technical accounting foundation within a highly respected international business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation and review of monthly consolidated financial statements.
  • Preparation of Group consolidations within BPC.
  • Supporting the production of the Annual Report and Interim Financial Statements.
  • Preparing and reviewing financial statement disclosures and supporting notes.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for international finance teams.
  • Supporting interim and year‑end external audits.
  • Preparing Head Office subsidiary accounts.
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities through the provision of Group reporting data.
  • Maintaining robust financial controls and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assisting with statutory and regulatory reporting requirements, including ONS submissions.

What do you need to thrive in this role

  • ACA qualified, trained within a Big 4 accountancy practice.
  • Ideally 1–2 years' post‑qualified.
  • Strong technical accounting and consolidation experience.
  • Exposure to IFRS reporting environments.
  • Experience working with multi‑currency consolidations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple reporting deadlines.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with a genuine desire to learn and develop.

Security vetting

Due to the nature of the industry that Urenco operates in, all personnel regardless of employment status working for Urenco are required to obtain security clearance at the level required for their role. Security clearances are assessed in accordance with regulations and official guidance issued by the relevant competent authorities for national security vetting. In certain circumstances, additional enhanced security clearance considerations apply to roles within Urenco owing to the particular activities that the Urenco Group undertakes in relation to uranium enrichment. Successful candidates will need to satisfy security requirements, and all offers of appointment are made subject to the successful approval of all checks initiated.
