We are currently recruiting for a skilled General Ledger Accountant to join our client’s finance team in Belfast. This is a contract role for an initial period of 10 months, subject to review. The General Ledger Accountant will report to the US GL Manager and will also work closely with the wider finance team. This is a hybrid role, but the client could consider someone working remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure proper and timely recording of financial transactions in the general ledger.
- Prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliations and monthly/quarterly variance analyses, documenting meaningful explanations for fluctuations.
- Ensure that general ledger and sub-ledger accounts are reconciled, and reconciling items are resolved on a timely basis, taking full ownership for assigned GL areas.
- Assist in meeting tight month-end reporting deadlines, including taking ownership of assigned reporting packages.
- Additional duties as required by manager and GL teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an Accountancy related field preferred.
- Fully qualified through a recognised financial institution e.g. ACA, ACCA, CAI, CIMA.
- 2+ years post qualified experience preferred.
- Proficiency with NetSuite and Oracle is preferred, but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
