Overview:

We are seeking an experienced EMC Consultant to provide electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) assurance for the West Yorkshire Mass Transit project. This high-profile infrastructure scheme requires a consultant with proven experience in light rail systems and DC traction power systems on UK light rail projects.

Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will take a leading role in EMC assurance activities across the project, with responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Leading EMC assurance initiatives for the West Yorkshire Mass Transit project.

  • Preparing EMC-related assurance documentation, including EMC Strategies and Control Plans.

  • Chairing and contributing to EMC HAZID workshops.

  • Managing and maintaining EMC hazard records.

  • Supervising and participating in EMC modelling activities (e.g., induced voltages and magnetic fields) with support from our modelling experts, using in-house software tools.

  • Producing standalone EMC assessments to demonstrate compliance with client requirements.

  • Conducting site-based EMC test measurements and other relevant surveys as required.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of EMC principles, particularly within the context of UK light rail and DC traction systems.

  • Demonstrable experience preparing EMC assurance documentation and leading HAZID processes.

  • Hands-on experience with EMC modelling, assessments, and on-site testing.

  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across complex rail projects.
