We have a fantastic opportunity for an Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation (EC&I) Commissioning Manager to join our Client on their Nuclear Defence project in Berkshire.
Your skills and experience will help deliver the successful commissioning and demonstration of all the specialist equipment, the building services and control systems required to operate the facility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Overseeing commissioning for the EC&I aspects of a variety of systems including BMS, HVAC and Process Plant Equipment. (Based on Siemens S7 PLC system).
Manage the production, review, and approval of commissioning documentation including BMS, Electrical, and Software documentation.
Manage issues found during the commissioning process through the commissioning reservation process.
Ensure safe procedures are applied consistently for all testing and commissioning across allocated work packages.
Witness Factory Acceptance Testing, Setting to Work and Site Acceptance Testing.
Manage test failure resolution.
Management, oversight and delivery of commissioning work packages within a complex infrastructure project.
Understand the requirements of AWE Commissioning procedures and ONR License Condition 21 Commissioning.
Support the management and deployment of the Overall Project Commissioning Strategy.
Plan and co-ordinate commissioning tests with the Suppliers.
Integrate test requirements and pre-requisites into the project programme.
Prepare and present regular commissioning progress updates.
Management of changes to commissioning schedules, resources and forecasts.
Chair commissioning reviews with stakeholders including design reviews, change reviews and procedure reviews.
ABOUT YOU
Substantial EC&I experience of commissioning BMS systems, vent plant or similar and managing commissioning teams to deliver successful outcomes.
Proven track record in complex project delivery, in defence (preferred) or similar technical sectors.
Strong client and stakeholder relationship building skills
Demonstrable knowledge and application of commissioning methodologies.
Ability to operate both autonomously and as part of a larger team
Excellent oral and written communication and organisation skills
Computer literacy in Microsoft applications
Full UK driving licence
Experience in the nuclear industry or other highly regulated industry.
Demonstrate sound technical knowledge and leadership experience.
An appreciation of mechanical / civil and process systems and an aptitude to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications.
Low Voltage Electrical Distribution design.
Control System design.
Building Services & Management system design.
Earthing & Lightning design.
Knowledge of safety standards (IEC 61508, 61511, 61513).
Knowledge of Functional Safety and Reliability and associated topics.
Project management skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
Suitable discipline specific including HNC in Electrical/Electronic engineering, Degree in controls or electrical experience.
Training and experience in lieu of above.
SECURITY CLEARANCE
Current holder of SC or DV level security clearance is preferable, or the ability to
obtain this. Must be a British Citizen and hold a British Passport, and not worked outside the UK during the past 5 years.
