Drainage Engineer – Highways | Birmingham (Hybrid) | Permanent | Competitive Salary

Morson Talent is proud to be supporting a major infrastructure organisation in the recruitment of a Drainage Engineer for their West Midlands-based engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the planning and delivery of highway drainage maintenance and renewals across a key regional network.

Working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, you\’ll play a critical role in identifying asset needs, developing technical designs, and supporting the long-term resilience of essential drainage infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop early solutions for drainage asset improvements and renewals, ensuring value, innovation, and buildability are considered

• Ensure accurate asset data is captured, maintained, and aligned with company standards and databases

• Prepare briefs and support survey and investigation works related to highway drainage

• Create and review technical briefs for external design contractors

• Lead or support the design of highway renewals and maintenance schemes for drainage assets

About You:

• Degree, HNC, or HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)

• Hands-on experience in drainage engineering within a highways or infrastructure environment

• Strong understanding of DMRB standards, CDM 2015 regulations, and their application in practice

• Ability to work within defined budgets and deliver value-driven solutions

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

• A full UK driving licence (with no more than 3 points) is essential
