Scottish Power Energy Networks are looking for a Community Benefits Manager to join them on a contract basis.

Job Title: Community Benefits Manager

Location: St Vincent Street Glasgow HQ / hybrid style working with regular travel to meet stakeholder groups

Rate: Negotiable inside IR35. PAYE and Umbrella options available

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the company's Community Benefits Framework.
  • Develop and maintain processes for effective distribution of funding through robust and effective mechanisms.
  • Be a key liaison with the corporate support functions - know how to use these to maximise reputational benefit.
  • Develop approach which leverages current £5m SPT Net Zero Fund to full advantage, utilising clear examples of delivering impact.
  • Develop a Community Benefits proposal for the RIIO-T3 business plan period, ensuring internal and external buy-in.
  • Develop a proposal in line with government and regulator guidance, evidencing compliance and robust governance procedures.
  • Manage, co-ordinate and deliver the Community Benefit Framework across a broad and inclusive range of stakeholders and local community groups.
  • Identify and engage stakeholders to understand priorities and reflect them in upcoming plans; drive an active engagement strategy leveraging technical expertise, stakeholder experience and communication skills to implement low carbon and innovation initiatives.
  • Develop stakeholder forums, meetings and events that support outperformance of Community Benefit objectives.
  • Ensure Community Benefits activity is maintained and actively recorded within agreed corporate systems.
  • Develop and continually review stakeholder and customer mapping across SP Transmission to ensure engagement activity is targeted and inclusive.
  • Collaborate with the Central Stakeholder & Communications team to implement engagement strategies and improve stakeholder and customer satisfaction research, analysis and feedback.
  • Develop stakeholder and customer engagement plans that support delivery of financial, regulatory and business plan objectives and optimise return through regulatory incentive mechanisms, integrating innovative solutions where appropriate.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience and knowledge of the UK utilities market and regulatory environment including Network Regulation - RIIO model.
  • Proven commercial awareness across the energy sector and understanding of key business drivers and context in which SP Energy Networks operates.
  • Proven track record of effective stakeholder and customer engagement and management.
  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent with relevant experience
  • Experience developing and delivering written communications for both internal and external audiences
  • Ability to plan, organise and deliver internal / external engagement plan, ensuring momentum and objectives are achieved within tight deadlines.
  • Active management, development and delivery across a range of communication channels (intranet, website, webinars, events, printed materials, videos etc), supporting strategic engagement objectives.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills to motivate and influence managers and staff at all levels, with the ability to convey complex subjects to diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with data collection and analysis techniques.
  • Ability to influence to deliver business strategic objectives
  • Ability to devise solutions to complex problems / challenges.
  • Proven experience in a comparable managerial role
  • Team player with a flexible attitude and good interpersonal skills
  • Availability to travel as required across the licence area and UK, when appropriate
