Our Client is a leading employer in the Greater Manchester area with multiple sites across the UK who offer their service to millions of customers each year. They are undergoing a large transformation programme that is one of the largest in the UK and includes a variety of unique technology projects.
Your Role: In this role, you will support our client's LAN, WAN, and WiFi infrastructure within a fast‑paced, 24/7/365 operational environment. Your responsibilities include maintaining and optimising the existing network estate, responding to and resolving faults while coordinating with external support partners where required, and performing detailed analysis and troubleshooting to ensure service reliability. You will also play an integral part in delivering projects, configuring and deploying network devices, and ensuring all activities align with established change management procedures.
Essential Experience: You will bring significant experience in a similar Network Engineer position, with proven competency across a range of Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls, as well as strong capability in corporate WiFi technologies, with Aruba experience considered highly advantageous. The role requires flexibility to work within a hybrid shift pattern during core office hours and to undertake on‑call responsibilities. You will have experience collaborating with third‑party suppliers and possess strong knowledge of LAN technologies (Cisco), wireless solutions (Aruba), network protocols such as BGP and OSPF, VPNs, and firewall technologies including ASA and Firepower. Familiarity with network management tools such as Cisco DCNM and DNAC is also valuable. Cisco certifications and experience working within ITIL‑aligned change management processes would be beneficial. You will be required to undertake security checks to be eligible to work on site for this role.
