Contract: 20-month contract

Rate: £21 per hour PAYE / £28.11 per hour Umbrella

Morson Edge are recruiting for Associate Mechanical Operators to support aircraft maintenance activities at RAF Marham. This is an excellent opportunity to join a long-term Aerospace programme, working within a close-knit, multi-skilled team carrying out metalworking and corrosion remediation on aircraft.

The Role

You will undertake metalworking and structural repair activities on aircraft and components, working to approved technical documentation within a safety-critical, regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out metalworking and corrosion remediation activities on aircraft
  • Prepare metal and composite structures for repair
  • Perform drilling and reaming of aircraft panels and structures
  • Apply adhesive bonding techniques
  • Remove and install a range of aircraft fasteners
  • Ensure all maintenance is conducted in line with approved technical data and risk assessments
  • Maintain accurate documentation and airworthiness records
  • Identify and escape any issues as required
  • Comply with MOE procedures and company standards
  • Apply Human Factors and Error Management principles
  • Ensure compliance with Continuing Airworthiness Assurance requirements

What We're Looking For

  • Experience using manual and pneumatic tooling
  • Experience preparing metal and/or composite surfaces for repair
  • Experience drilling, reaming and working on aircraft or similar structures
  • Experience installing and removing aircraft fasteners
  • Experience with adhesive bonding techniques
  • General understanding of aircraft maintenance environments

Qualifications

  • Engineering Apprenticeship (Aeronautical or equivalent) or Minimum NVQ Level 2 in a relevant discipline
  • Equivalent military or industry experience considered
