Responsibilities

  • Identification, coordination and monitoring of all homologation requirements to achieve timely vehicle certification and authorisation.
  • Management of the Certification Bodies involved in the project, coordinating technical submissions to demonstrate conformity to relevant standards, and monitoring all related activities to obtain on time certification of the vehicle.
  • Coordination with Network Rail and other affected parties to demonstrate compatibility between the vehicles and the routes over which they are planned to operate, to obtain the on-time issue of a Summary of Compatibility from Network Rail to proceed to the next stage of operation.
  • Coordination with the Office of Rail and Road (ORR), Railway Safety & Standards Board (RSSB) and Department for Transport (DfT) in matters relating to project authorisation and standards compliance.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Relevant degree or equivalent.
  • Experience of successful delivery, as part of a team, in a multi-disciplinary project environment.
  • Project management and project coordination skills and experience.
  • Able to communicate with colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
  • Excellent IT skills including experience of Microsoft packages including Excel.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to maintain accurate records.
  • Able to work flexibly across a broad range of activities as the role evolves.
  • Able to respond and adapt to changing circumstances in a fast‑paced pressured environment.
  • Able to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to travel regularly in the UK.
  • Knowledge of railway (or similar) approvals, authorisation, compliance and conformance processes.
