Morson Talent are currently recruiting for Slingers and Crane Supervisors to work on-site in Devonport dockyard in Plymouth. Working safely in a maritime environment, you will be required to inspect lifting equipment to ensure its fit for use, you will mainly use chain blocks and fleeting techniques. You will need to be competent in the general use of lifting equipment and tools related to the role, such as the use of fixed gantry (overhead traveller) cranes, spreader bars, plate clamps and chain blocks. You will also need to have experience in the following areas: Ability to read and interpret lifting instructions. Proven track record of completing work to time, cost and quality parameters.Ideally will have worked in the marine industry with experience of Royal Navy ships and submarines, Royal Fleet Auxiliary vessels or large commercial ships although other relevant experience will be considered. Pay Rates Slingers PAYE – £19.45 per hour Umbrella – £24.16 per hour (Pre 12 weeks) & £24.71 per hour (Post 12 weeks) + Radius Allowance. Crane Supervisors PAYE – £23.40 per hour Umbrella – £29.19 per hour (Pre 12 weeks) & £29.85 per hour (Post 12 weeks) 35 standard hours a week, 07:30 – 15:30 Monday to Thursday, 07:30 – 12:30 on a Friday, shift and overtime a possibility but not guaranteed. 12 month initial contract
