A Principal Safety Engineer is sought for a contract job to support a range of Fire & Explosion Safety Engineering tasks. Key Tasks: Taking a lead role across Fire & Explosion Safety Engineering (DSEAR) risk assessments and compliance activities for new and existing submarine manufacturing facilities. Co-ordinating the work programs of team members to meet strategic explosion safety objectives Leading the on-going development of the fire safety team across a number of projects for buildings and submarine platforms. Mentoring and developing engineers within the team Monitoring, recording and reporting against key performance indicators for Explosion Safety through a variety of key stakeholder groups Developing, producing and maintaining Explosion Safety process documentation and management strategies Producing and reviewing explosion strategies and risk assessments Reviewing and supporting commissioning strategies for explosion safety systems Producing proposals for packages of work Reviewing of engineering documentation (relevant to Explosion Safety) Providing support to regulatory inspections Chairing explosion safety workshops and working groups.
