This role may be based in either the West or East Midlands, with the opportunity to work from home for part of the week Waldeck are an award-winning consultancy with over 25 years’ experience. We work collaboratively with clients to deliver sustainable and innovative solutions across the built environment. In 2018 Waldeck was acquired by leading recruitment firm, Morson Group. As part of the Morson Group family we have the stability and financial backing of a large organisation, with the luxury of operating and collaborating with clients as a smaller, more intimate consultancy. We are recruiting for a Project Surveyor to be based within our Commercial team across our East or West Midlands regions. Reporting into the Associate, the Project Surveyor is responsible for advising on all aspects of design and construction and compiling detailed reports for the client. Within this role your responsibilities will include: * Acting as project lead on small to medium sized projects * Managing team members to support in contract administration * Acting as Employers Agent * Supervising teamwork load and allocating accordingly * Promoting commercial awareness and embedding best practice across the teams * Site inspections and reporting * Working in line with budgets, ensuring cost plans and time constraints are met * Preparation of payments and cashflows * Preparing contract documents * Identifying opportunities and risks both internally and externally * Preparation of cost reports * Snagging and defect inspections * Team support across all projects * Travel to internal and client offices Person Specification: * Previous experience in a similar role, residential markets experience would be advantageous. * Chartership or are working towards chartership with RICS * Experience of instructing, managing, and working with contractors, consultants, or other professionals in construction projects. * Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety issues and requirements related to the Construction Industry, including CDM Regs and related legislation * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a good working knowledge of the Microsoft office suite of software Our organisation offers a range of exciting benefits including: 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays Full support and guidance towards chartership Company funded professional memberships Family-friendly policies Life assurance scheme 24/7 GP Access Funded team socials and events Mega-projects throughout the UK and internationally Employee Assistance Plan High street discount scheme Company sick pay scheme Mental Health Wellbeing app Specsavers discount scheme
