What You’ll Do: As a Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will support the finance function with day-to-day activities, including:

  • Processing supplier invoices, staff expenses and purchase orders accurately and on time
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Preparing and processing weekly BACS payment runs
  • Completing daily and monthly bank reconciliations
  • Ensuring all invoices are approved in line with procedures
  • Dealing with internal and external stakeholders
  • Supporting month-end tasks, including journals, reconciliations
  • Compile Payment Practices reporting
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and helping prepare internal reports
  • Handling finance queries from project teams and suppliers, providing excellent service
  • Supporting continuous improvement across finance processes and systems
  • Contributing to a collaborative finance team and supporting colleagues during peak periods

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a Purchase Ledger role
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
  • Confidence using finance systems and Excel (VLOOKUPs/Pivot Tables a plus)
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work to deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-focused approach
