We're looking for an Electrical Design Engineer with EPLAN experience to join our growing team and support the design and delivery of electrical control systems across a diverse portfolio of client projects. Within this role, you will combine office-based design, remote working and occasional site visits. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop innovative electrical solutions from concept through to commissioning.
What You'll Do
- Designing and developing electrical control systems for industrial and infrastructure projects
- Producing detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts and associated documentation using EPLAN, AutoCAD and other engineering design software
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to understand project requirements and develop practical technical solutions
- Ensuring designs comply with customer specifications, industry standards and safety regulations
- Supporting system integration, factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT) and commissioning activities
- Providing technical support during installation, testing, fault-finding and commissioning of electrical and control systems
- Preparing technical reports, calculations and maintaining accurate design documentation throughout the project lifecycle
- Supporting project planning, risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives
- Working closely with clients and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
What We're Looking For
- Experience producing electrical designs, including schematics, wiring diagrams and panel layouts using EPLAN, AutoCAD or similar CAD software
- Good understanding of industrial automation, instrumentation and control systems
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols and safety-related control systems
- Understanding of relevant electrical standards and regulations, including BS and IEC standards
- Ability to interpret engineering specifications, P&IDs and technical documentation
- Experience supporting installation, commissioning, testing and fault-finding of electrical and control systems
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical and organisational skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients
- Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Control & Automation Engineering, or a related discipline
