Morson Nexus is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Quality Assurance Manager – Rail to strengthen quality governance, assurance, and compliance across our growing rail training delivery operation. This is a key role within the business, focused on ensuring that all Rail contracted activity, self-delivered provision, associate trainer delivery, and supply chain training is delivered to the highest possible standards of quality, professionalism, safety, and compliance. About the Role: The successful candidate will provide dedicated quality oversight across rail training delivery activities, helping to identify and manage risks before they escalate into incidents, investigations, complaints, or non-conformances. Working closely with operational teams, trainers, suppliers, and senior stakeholders, you will play a central role in strengthening assurance visibility, improving behavioural compliance, and embedding a proactive quality culture throughout the delivery network. This is a varied and hands-on role that combines:
- Onsite quality assurance visits
- Live trainer observations
- Supplier audits and assurance reviews
- Desk-based documentation checks
- Investigation support and corrective action management
- Governance reporting and trend analysis
- Continuous improvement activity
Key Responsibilities: You will be responsible for:
- Conducting planned and risk-based assurance activity across rail training delivery
- Carrying out targeted observations of higher-risk courses, trainers, and suppliers
- Monitoring compliance with RTAS, NSAR, Network Rail, and internal quality standards
- Reviewing course documentation, evidence, learner records, and delivery packs
- Supporting supplier assurance audits and monitoring corrective actions
- Identifying behavioural, compliance, or delivery risks at an early stage
- Supporting investigations into quality concerns, complaints, and non-conformances
- Producing clear audit findings, assurance reports, and quality trend analysis
- Supporting audit readiness and external assurance activity
- Working collaboratively with operational and technical stakeholders to drive improvement
Who We’re Looking For: We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical assurance capability with excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills. You should have experience or strong working knowledge of:
- Rail training delivery environments
- RTAS and NSAR assurance expectations
- Quality assurance, audit, or compliance management
- Trainer performance observation and monitoring
- Supplier assurance and governance
- Corrective action and root cause analysis
- Behavioural safety and professional standards
- Working within operational, safety-critical environments
Desirable qualifications and experience include:
- Internal Auditor qualification
- IQA / IV qualification or experience
- Teaching, Training or Assessing qualification
- ISO 9001 quality management knowledge
- Experience supporting Network Rail or awarding body audits
- Experience within an RTAS-assured provider environment
