Morson Nexus is seeking an experienced, hands-on Head of Quality & Compliance to lead quality assurance and compliance across training, assessment, and funded provision in construction, rail, infrastructure, utilities, and health & safety sectors. This is a practical, operational role: you will embed quality and compliance into day-to-day delivery, lead audits, ensure regulatory standards are met, and provide strategic leadership across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead internal quality assurance (IQA), audits, and compliance reviews across all UK training provision
- Oversee funded programme compliance (AEB, Skills Bootcamps, CITB) and eligibility documentation
- Manage operational delivery standards across construction, rail, and other regulated sectors
- Ensure compliance with awarding bodies, ESFA, Ofqual, and sector-specific frameworks (NSAR, RISQS, IOSH, NRSWA)
- Operate ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 or other quality management frameworks, embedding governance in daily operations
- Provide hands-on leadership and guidance to a small national quality team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement
- Drive continuous improvement through feedback, performance monitoring, and corrective actions
- Travel across the UK to support training, audits, inspections, and team collaboration
About You
- Experience in quality assurance and compliance in education, skills, or training provision
- Strong operational understanding of audits, IQA, and funded programme governance
- Familiarity with ISO or equivalent quality management frameworks
- Experience in regulated, safety-critical sectors (construction, rail, utilities, health & safety)
- Able to balance governance requirements with practical delivery realities
- Leadership experience managing small teams and providing guidance across multiple locations
- Comfortable with UK-wide travel when needed as part of the role
- Nice-to-have: Ofqual, ESFA, CITB, or sector-specific accreditation knowledge.
