We are currently looking for Smart Meter Engineers for our client based in Ipswich and surrounding areas. They provide an end‑to‑end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation. This role will be within the Metering team, joining the leading provider of metering services in the UK energy retail sector, and delivering efficient and flexible services for gas, electricity and water meters.

Responsibilities

  • Form part of the Metering team that provides Smart installations, investigates non‑communicating smart meters, and attends emergency and maintenance appointments.
  • Provide excellent customer service: ensure all jobs are completed on time and explain the benefits and safe usage of new meters to customers.
  • Respond to emergencies, restoring power or gas when customers need it most.
  • Participate in weekly meetings and team catch‑ups, supporting the field managers and support functions.

Qualifications

  • Valid UK driving licence, held for at least one year and with fewer than six points.
  • Certifications: CCN1, CMA1, CMA3, or NVQ Level 2 in Smart Metering Dual Fuel.
  • Experience installing gas and electric smart meters.
  • Previous MOCOPA experience.

Compensation and Working Hours

  • On‑target earnings of up to £50k+.
  • 30‑33 days holiday (including bank holidays).
