We are currently looking for Smart Meter Engineers for our client. There are a number of opportunities available and we are looking for candidates based in Slough, Reading, Twickenham & Hemel Hempstead areas. They provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation. This role will be within the Metering team, you’ll join the leading provider of metering services in the UK energy retail sector, and provide efficient and flexible services for gas, electricity and water meters.
What will you be doing?
- Form part of the Metering team that provides a wide range of services from Smart installations, investigating non-communicating smart meters and emergency and maintenance appointments.
- Work independently, chat with customers and meet new people.
- Provide top priority customer service, ensuring all jobs are completed on time and customers are given in-depth explanations of the benefits and safe usage of their new meter.
- Respond to emergencies, restoring power or gas when customers need it most.
- Receive continuous training to maintain and develop your skills.
- Participate in weekly meetings, catch‑ups and support from field managers, offering continuous learning and assistance.
What you’ll bring
- Valid UK driving licence held for 1 year with less than 6 points.
- CCN1 / CMA1 / CMA3 qualification, or NVQ Level 2 in Smart Metering Dual Fuel, and experience installing gas and electric smart meters.
- Previous MOCOPA experience.
- 3‑phase/CT and/or Medium Pressure qualified (to earn an additional £1,000).
