Ponds Decommissioning Technician – Dungeness A Power Station

Location: Dungeness A Power Station.

Contract Type: 6‑Month Contract. Hours: 4‑Day Working Week Monday – Thursday 7.25am – 5.00pm.

We are seeking a dependable and safety‑focused Ponds Decommissioning Technician to join the Operations Department at Dungeness A Power Station. In this contract position, you will support safe and compliant operational activities in line with Site Licence requirements, statutory regulations and company procedures.

This role is ideal for individuals with industrial or nuclear experience who want to apply their skills in a highly regulated environment while gaining further competence as a Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person (SQEP).

Key Responsibilities

• Perform core production and operational duties safely within your demonstrated competence.
• Support additional site responsibilities where necessary, including site security tasks.
• Fulfil an appointed role within the Site Emergency Scheme.
• Comply with all Health, Safety, Security, Environmental and Quality policies, procedures and risk assessments.
• Contribute to ongoing safety, environmental and operational improvements across the site.
• Attend pre‑job briefings.
• Report hazards, issues, or changes, if identified.
• Ensure the work area is kept clean and organised to prevent accidents or contamination.
• Take part in toolbox talks and training.
• Work as part of a team – excellent communication skills required.
• Dismantle and removal of equipment.
• Handle and dispose of nuclear waste.
• Must be able to work in areas that require you to have Personal Protective Equipment + Respiratory Protective Equipment – all of which will be supplied.

Experience & Knowledge

• Experience working in an industrial environment (essential).
• Experience operating plant or equipment in production or operational settings.
• Experience within the nuclear industry (highly desirable).
• Must be able to follow safety procedures, and be able to identify any potential hazards.
