We are recruiting for an experienced Welding Supervisor to support day-to-day operations at the historic Belfastshipyard. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical welding experience and proven supervisory capability, who can lead frontline teams safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards on maritime projects.
As Welding Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating daily work activities, allocating resources, supporting productivity targets, and ensuring all work is completed in line with company procedures, specifications, and safety requirements. Rates:
Local Contractors (Inside 39 miles from site)
£30 per hour + £4.36 holiday pay per hour
Non-local Contractors (Outside 39 miles from site)
£30 per hour + £8.90 Travel Allowance + £4.36 holiday pay per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising and supporting welding teams on a day-to-day basis within the Belfast yard
- Leading daily safety briefings and toolbox talks
- Ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards
- Monitoring project progress and escalating risks, delays, or constraints
- Supporting attendance, timekeeping, conduct, and team performance
- Promoting safe behaviors, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Helping develop team members through guidance and on-the-job support
Requirements
- An apprenticeship, advanced qualification, or equivalent experience in a relevant technical field
- Strong hands-on technical welding background, ideally within shipbuilding, ship repair, or heavy fabrication
- Proven ability to lead, coordinate, and motivate teams in a busy operational environment
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality control, and schedule delivery
