The Opportunity
As part of a growing team, you'll take ownership of transport planning projects from inception through to completion, delivering high-quality technical work while managing client relationships and collaborating with colleagues across multiple disciplines.
You'll contribute to a wide variety of development projects, providing expert transport planning advice, preparing technical reports and supporting the delivery of sustainable transport solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver transport planning projects across a variety of development sectors.
- Prepare Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
- Undertake transport and traffic analysis using industry-standard software.
- Produce technical reports, presentations and supporting planning documentation.
- Provide transport planning advice to clients and internal project teams.
- Liaise with clients, local authorities and key project stakeholders.
- Monitor project budgets, programmes and resource requirements.
- Support the preparation of planning-stage highway design solutions.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project solutions.
- Mentor and support junior team members where appropriate.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, Mathematics or a related discipline.
- Experience delivering transport planning projects within a consultancy or private sector environment.
- Strong understanding of the UK planning system and transport planning principles.
- Experience preparing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans.
- Excellent analytical, report writing and communication skills.
- Commercial awareness with strong client-facing abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Power Point.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Experience
- Experience using TRICS, Junctions 10 and Lin Sig.
- Knowledge of highway design and junction assessment.
- CAD experience.
- Road safety engineering experience.
- Experience managing projects or mentoring junior team members.
