About the Role

We are seeking an experienced IT Software Asset Manager to join a Digital Excellence team responsible for delivering high-quality IT services across the organisation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a software asset management professional with strong licensing expertise and hands-on experience of SNOW Software Asset Management tools. You will play a critical role in ensuring software licence compliance, optimising software utilisation, and driving effective software asset management practices across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end software licence compliance across the IT estate.
  • Administer and maintain the SNOW Software Asset Management (SAM) platform.
  • Interpret and apply software licensing terms, conditions, and compliance requirements.
  • Analyse software usage data and metering information to optimise licence utilisation and reduce costs.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve software asset management processes and best practices.
  • Provide guidance and support to stakeholders on software procurement, licensing, and usage.
  • Manage software lifecycle activities from acquisition through to retirement.
  • Conduct regular software compliance audits, comparing deployment against entitlement and identifying any risks or optimisation opportunities.
  • Analyse contractual, financial, and licensing data to determine and report on software compliance positions.
  • Produce accurate reports detailing installed software, versions, and licence volumes across the organisation.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of software entitlements and proof-of-licence documentation.
  • Create and maintain process documentation, procedures, and operational guides.
  • Support internal and external audit activities as required.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in Software Asset Management (SAM).
  • Strong expertise with SNOW Software Asset Management tools.
  • In-depth understanding of software licensing models, compliance requirements, and licence optimisation strategies.
  • Experience conducting software audits and compliance assessments.
  • Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Experience managing software asset lifecycle processes.
  • Ability to develop and improve governance, processes, and documentation.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working within large, complex enterprise IT environments.
  • Knowledge of IT Asset Management (ITAM) best practices.
  • Familiarity with software vendor licensing frameworks (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, IBM).
  • Experience supporting regulatory and compliance audits.
