Senior Product Owner to join a central government delivery programme, helping shape and deliver products that make a real difference to public services.
This is an opportunity for a confident Product Owner who can work effectively across stakeholders, delivery teams and senior decision-makers to turn complex requirements into clear, actionable product outcomes.
The Role
As Senior Product Owner, you’ll take ownership of product priorities, working closely with delivery and technical teams to ensure the right things are being built at the right time.
You’ll be comfortable operating in a complex government environment, balancing user needs, business objectives and delivery constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and communicate product vision, priorities and roadmap.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and define product outcomes.
- Translate complex requirements into clear user stories and actionable backlog items.
- Manage and prioritise the product backlog to maximise value.
- Collaborate with delivery teams, Business Analysts, Scrum Masters and technical stakeholders.
- Facilitate workshops, refinement sessions and product discussions.
- Make informed product decisions and manage competing priorities.
- Support delivery through to successful implementation and continuous improvement.
- Engage with senior stakeholders across the programme.
Essential Experience
- Proven experience working as a
Senior Product Owner in complex delivery environments.
Full and in-date SC clearance – essential.
Central government project delivery experience – essential.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery and product management principles.
- Experience managing product backlogs, user stories and prioritisation.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote delivery environment.
