Overview: Morson are supporting a major UK infrastructure client with the recruitment of a Senior Civil Design Engineer to join a growing capital delivery and design function supporting large-scale infrastructure investment projects. This role will support the development and delivery of civil engineering solutions across a varied capital programme, covering feasibility, outline and detailed design, design assurance, and construction support activities within a regulated environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver feasibility studies, civil designs, and technical specifications for infrastructure projects
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary design activities across civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical interfaces
  • Review geotechnical, hydraulic, and survey information to support design development
  • Support CDM compliance and embed health & safety considerations throughout the design lifecycle
  • Produce and review technical reports, calculations, and construction documentation
  • Support project delivery teams through technical queries, design clarifications, and contractor engagement
  • Contribute to risk identification, value engineering, and whole-life cost optimisation activities
  • Engage with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and regulatory bodies

Candidate Profile:

  • Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or similar discipline
  • Experience delivering civil infrastructure projects within regulated sectors such as water, utilities, energy, or infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of design coordination, feasibility assessment, and technical documentation
  • Experience working within CDM-regulated environments
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts and BIM-led project delivery beneficial
  • Working toward Chartership with ICE preferred
