We’re delighted to be partnering with a global leading organisation within the insurance sector with the appointment of an experienced Data Architect & Governance Lead. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in shaping the organisation’s data architecture and governance landscape, helping to leverage data more effectively to support business decisions, enhance client services and improve operational efficiency.

The Opportunity

As Data Architect, you’ll work across technology and the wider business to develop and embed strong data architecture and governance practices. You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Develop and execute the organisation’s Data Strategy and Data Governance Strategy
  • Define and implement effective data architecture patterns, standards and principles
  • Establish and embed data governance practices across the data team and wider organisation
  • Work closely with senior management, IT, Enterprise Architecture, Legal, Compliance and Risk
  • Lead architectural and governance activities, supporting analysts and engineers in delivering high-quality data products
  • Develop and maintain a data catalogue, including critical data elements, data flows and data lineage
  • Support data quality, classification, ownership, integrity and interoperability
  • Document data journeys across operational, analytical and integration layers
  • Provide architecture and governance guidance across data-related projects
  • Monitor emerging industry trends, regulatory requirements and best practice within the insurance sector
  • Support the Head of Data in developing data maturity and confidence across the organisation

What you will bring

  • Proven experience in data architecture, data governance and data management
  • Experience working with data governance tools and technologies
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, data quality, data lineage and data management principles
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders across technology, risk, compliance and business functions
  • The ability to influence teams and embed strong data governance practices across an organisation
  • You will bring energy, enthusiasm and a collaborative approach, with the ability to build strong relationships and work effectively with stakeholders across the business.
  • Experience within the insurance or financial services is highly desired.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related discipline is desirable.
