Location – Denton (Manchester)

Type of role – Full time Permanent

Salary - £16.50-£19.00/hr (depends on experience)

Hours – Monday to Thursday 8am-4.30pm; Friday 8am-1pm

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced CNC Setter/Operator with strong Mazak expertise to set, operate, and optimize CNC lathes for aerospace components. This role involves working to tight tolerances, interpreting complex engineering drawings, and ensuring compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Set and operate Mazak CNC lathes (including Quick Turn and Nexus series) using Mazatrol controls.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T specifications.
  • Perform first-off inspections and maintain quality standards throughout production.
  • Optimise tooling and machining processes for efficiency and precision.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to meet demanding schedules.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and 5S workplace organization principles.

Skills / Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience setting and operating Mazak CNC lathes in aerospace or precision engineering.
  • Proficiency in Mazatrol programming and multi-axis machining.
  • Strong understanding of AS9100D and ISO 9001 quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled in using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, CMM).
