Help us to make a world of difference
Urenco is a global leader in the production of low carbon energy. We work at the cutting edge of the transition to a sustainable, net zero world.
We’re looking for a C&I Engineer. Based at our Capenhurst site, you’ll provide discipline specific engineering services within the UUK Engineering & Projects department to ensure the delivery of safe, cost effective design solutions. To undertake activities across the project/engineering cycle, including requirements capture, Optioneering, Design Delivery, review/approval of design deliverables, management of installation/construction, testing/commissioning and handover; and to provide discipline specific advice into a variety of forums, taking ownership and resolving issues as required.
At Urenco we’re committed to giving you opportunities to be your best. If you feel you meet some, but not all of what we’re looking for, please still apply. We believe in embracing the passion and potential of our people, and to achieve this we offer market leading training and development experiences. Along with the opportunity to be mentored and coached by some of the smartest minds in the industry.
What you’ll do:
- Producing high quality engineering deliverables to cost and schedule which comply with UUK design procedures, relevant codes and standards, and nuclear site license requirements
- Produce appropriate specifications for contractors and manage their delivery
- Actively manage and record CPD from on-the-job training and any external learning, in order to provide robust evidence for professional registration/membership and SQEP.
- Understanding and considering the wider implications of a change, outside of your own discipline.
- Undertaking technical investigations as required
- Undertaking commissioning activities when required and authorized to do so
What do you need to thrive in this role?
- Degree in relevant discipline-specific Engineering.
- Associate member of a relevant engineering institute and actively pursuing chartered status.
- Good understanding of Engineering design processes in a heavily regulated industry.
- Completion of Engineering-based graduate scheme (3-4 years) or equivalent, followed by demonstrable experience within a heavily regulated industry
What can you expect from us?
More than just a job, we offer a future. More than just a place to work, we provide an opportunity to prosper. As an employee of Urenco you will receive:
- Annual leave starting at 25 days, which increases by one day for every two years of service up to a maximum of 30 days. In addition, you will accrue 13 additional days off to be used flexibly. There’s also a newly added scheme for buying and selling holiday, up to 5 days.
- A diverse range of family friendly policies.
- A generous bonus scheme.
- A defined contribution pension scheme; with up to 16% employer’s contribution.
- Single private medical and dental cover.
- Flexible benefits package; including life assurance and income protection. In addition, you’ll have an opportunity to purchase additional benefits that suit your lifestyle and take advantage of tax and NI savings.
- Education and training; we take pride in helping people learn and develop by supporting, accelerating and directing your learning. As well as the completion of mandatory health and safety courses, training packages will be offered to meet your specific needs.
Security vetting
Due to the nature of the industry that Urenco operates in, all personnel regardless of employment status working for Urenco are required to obtain security clearance at the level required for their role. Security clearances are assessed in accordance with regulations and official guidance issued by the relevant competent authorities for national security vetting.
