We have a friendly, close‑knit team and value collaborative working across all disciplines, meaning you will have the opportunity to gain a balanced appreciation of interdisciplinary working.

We are looking for both a Senior Landscape Architect, with around three to five years post‑Chartership experience, and a Graduate or recently Chartered Landscape Architect. As part of our inter‑disciplinary environmental consultancy, you will be working alongside ecologists, environmental managers and planners on a varied and interesting portfolio of design and assessment projects for major highway, public realm, feasibility and management studies, schools, renewable energy and development projects across Wales, the West Midlands and South West England for both the public and private sectors. For the Senior Landscape Architect role you must demonstrate high‑quality design and written output for landscape and urban design and landscape assessment, together with technical rigour and a proactive approach to project delivery. The proposed outline package remuneration will depend on qualifications and experience. We offer a positive and cooperative working environment with a strong team ethos. Opportunities to further support your career development and knowledge through training, active engagement with the Landscape Institute Wales and CPD are actively encouraged, with other members of the team recently gaining CMLI and CIEEM qualifications. Both positions are Cardiff‑based with around three days per week anticipated either on‑site or in the office. However, flexible and home‑based working is encouraged.

Key elements of the role include:

  • Project Landscape Architect for landscape design and assessment projects
  • Project management and multidisciplinary team working
  • Bid preparation
  • Contributing to the ongoing development of the practice and its staff through mentoring and management

The successful candidate will have some or all of the following:

  • A sound knowledge of landscape legislation, policy and guidance
  • Experience in undertaking LVIA and EIA for varying scales of development and knowledge of the planning process
  • Experience of design, implementation and contract administration
  • Excellent written and communication skills, with confidence interacting with co‑workers at all levels, other specialists, clients and contractors
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel; practical knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop or GIS packages is an advantage

For the Landscape Architect / CMLI role you will have experience working in consultancy, be a Chartered Landscape Architect or working towards chartership, and be able to show:

  • A good knowledge of landscape design, with portfolio examples to present
  • An understanding of the guidance and practice of LVIA
  • Good written and communication skills with a willingness to learn from and engage with team members
  • Enthusiasm and flexibility to work in both office and site environments
  • Demonstrable graphic and writing skills, and a good working knowledge of AutoCAD and graphic design software experience, with GIS is an advantage

Benefits:

  • Flexible working
  • 20 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, with the opportunity to purchase 5 additional days each year; an increase of 5 additional days with length of service
  • Enrolment in our Group Pension plan
  • Private medical insurance and Life Assurance
  • Payment of professional fees (LI, IEEM, AAHI etc.)
  • Participation in elective benefits such as Cycle to Work Scheme and health insurance
  • Training packages designed around you

A full driving licence is required for both positions, along with the ability and confidence to work independently on‑site, including in remote rural locations.
