Morson Talent is partnering with GKN Aerospace to recruit for a Skilled Paint Sprayer - Nightshift.

Location: GKN Western Approach

Duration: 6 months ongoing

Standard Hours: 37.5 hours per week on night shift – 35 per week core days while training

Other working hours: Mon‑Thurs, M‑W Nights 8pm to 6am and Th night 7pm to 4.30am

Rate: Skilled without stamp, on nights £24.51 PAYE; Core Days (while training) £18.43; Nights (once fully trained) £25.60 plus enhanced overtime rates

Key Deliverables:
  • Ensure parts are produced on ‘right first time’ basis
  • Ensure that any calibrated equipment used is within date
  • Responsible for the timely clearance of work phases using the SAP system
  • Highlight any non‑conformance to the process team leader
  • Adhere to the requirements of GKNAF quality procedures
  • Accountable for health and safety requirements under Section 7 of the HASAWA 1974
  • Hold first‑party inspection approval (M02 status subject to obtaining an A stamp approval)
  • Responsible for general housekeeping within the area
Key Skills:
  • A recognised paint spraying indentured apprenticeship and ideally previous manufacturing experience in a factory environment is essential; certificates must be produced upon application
  • Ability to work to standard operating procedures
  • Must be able to work in small teams with process leaders
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and techniques to support GKNAF continuous improvement initiatives
  • Self‑motivated team player with good communication skills
