Security Clearance: Baseline Security Clearance Required Prior to Start

Rates (Before Stamp Approval): £24.25 per hour

Overtime: £29.10 per hour

Rates (After Stamp Approval): £25.24 per hour

Overtime: £30.86 per hour

Overview: We are recruiting Skilled Fitters to support a major aerospace manufacturing programme in Filton.

Shift Pattern: All shifts: 07:00 – 18:45

  • Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday
  • Week 2: Thursday, Friday

Paid for 11 hours 45 minutes per shift

Role: You will operate as a multi‑skilled Aircraft Fitter carrying out structural assembly activities on metallic aircraft components within a wing assembly environment. All successful candidates will complete a metallic structures trade test onsite covering drilling, riveting, countersinking, and bolting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Percussion riveting
  • Drill, ream, and countersink panels using Vanmar tooling
  • Set structures within build jigs
  • Deburr aircraft structures
  • Fettle components using approved setting tools
  • Carry out localised treatment touch‑up on aluminium structures
  • Operate CNC pillar drills (DONAU)
  • Ensure right‑first‑time quality standards
  • Complete work phase clearance through SAP
  • Highlight non‑conformances to the Process Team Leader
  • Maintain high housekeeping and safety standards

Requirements:

  • Level 3 indentured apprenticeship in a relevant discipline OR NVQ Level 3 with 3–5 years aerospace experience
  • Previous aircraft production or aerospace manufacturing experience
  • Ability to work to standard operating procedures
  • Comfortable working within small teams
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self‑motivated and quality focused
