Project Engineer - Piping Manufacture - HYBRID in Bridgwater

Location: Bridgwater (Somerset) Construction site and satellite office based x3 days per week AND x2 days per week remote working (from home)
Status: CONTRACT - INSIDE IR35
Duration: Approved until December 2027

Morson Edge are working with a major player in the Energy Sector who have a current contract requirement for a Project Engineer to join their established Piping Manufacturing team. This is a construction site and satellite office based position in Bridgwater, Somerset - 3 days office attendance per week with 2 days working from home/remotely. Overview

• You will be supporting the full lifecycle of piping design, from early basic design at Handover 1 (HO1) through to final handover for commissioning at Handover 4 (HO4).

Principal Responsibilities

• Providing Engineering (Technical) support to the Package Project Management team, including attendance at weekly / monthly PM meetings.
• Collating and maintaining support tracker to record support book releases and design holds at Handover 2 (HO2), through to manufacturing completion at Handover 3 (HO3).
• Managing change management process relating to design updates post HO2, pre-HO3.
• Manage the Technical Query (TQ) process for the package, including chairing regular TQ meetings with stakeholders and facilitating responses from responsible departments, as required.
• Ensure CEMAR is maintained to reflect TQ progress and resolutions.
• Manage Engineering input to HO3 requirements.
• Provide technical input into HO1-HO2 'Constructability' issues, as required.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience

• Typically degree or equivalent qualification in an engineering, construction, or other related field.
• Demonstrate expertise in relevant technical discipline within the pipework manufacturing / construction / management environment.
• Track record of working on projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment, ideally within the Nuclear Energy sector or similar regulated environment.
• Proven ability to successfully deliver engineering safely to the correct quality, time and cost in a fast paced, schedule driven environment.
• Experience of successfully engaging, managing and influencing groups of stakeholders and facilitating issues resolution.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to develop relationships and maintain effective networks.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations

Working level knowledge/use of the following (or similar equivalent) software tools

• Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• 3D PDMS or Navisworks
• Contract Management software (eg. CEMAR, Teamcenter)
