Safran Aerosystems for a Logistics Officer to join their team in Braintree on a 6-month contract.

The role will support the Stores, Goods In and Dispatch functions, ensuring materials and stock are accurately received, stored, managed and distributed in line with company procedures.

You will also liaise with UK and overseas customers and freight agents to coordinate deliveries and support air and sea freight requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, count and record stock using internal systems.
  • Pack, unpack and store materials in an organised and accessible manner.
  • Carry out regular stock checks and physical inventory counts.
  • Support daily Stores, Goods In and Dispatch activities.
  • Safely move and load/unload materials using relevant equipment, including forklifts.
  • Issue materials, parts and supplies to workshop teams against requisitions.
  • Liaise with UK and overseas customers to arrange deliveries.
  • Receive and process air and sea freight shipments.
  • Provide accurate clearance instructions to freight agents.
  • Research freight costs and obtain air and sea freight quotations.
  • Organise dangerous goods shipments in line with IATA and IMDG requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and support audits and inspections.
  • Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with Health & Safety requirements and company procedures.

About You

  • Previous experience within a logistics, stores, warehouse, goods-in or dispatch environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with good attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams, customers and freight agents.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of Health & Safety and compliance.
  • Experience using

ERP systems or internal/in-house stock management systems .

Desirable

  • Experience working within a highly regulated environment , ideally within aerospace, aviation, manufacturing or a similar sector.
  • Experience handling or arranging the shipment of dangerous goods .
  • Knowledge of

IATA Air Freight and/or IMDG Sea Freight regulations.

  • Previous experience within an aerospace or aviation environment.
