Morson are recruiting on behalf a leading defence equipment manufacturers based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. This is a contract role although highly likely to be long-term.
£35 per hour Umbrella or £26.07 per hour (holiday pay on top of hourly rate)
Monday – Friday 37 hours +
**In order to be considered for this opportunity you will need to be eligible for SC (Secret Level) UK Security Clearance. Both the role and client site have ITAR nationality restrictions**
Role Overview:
Our client is seeking an Electronics Engineer to join their Calibration & Maintenance Team, to service Electrical and Electronic Test Equipment, including Special to Type Test Equipment (STTE)
Role responsibilities:

  • Calibrating test/measuring equipment to defined instructions, handbooks, drawings or specifications and providing technical advice/guidance on C&M measurement.
  • Provide technical support to the organisation functions.
  • Maintain and repair test/measuring equipment to component level.
  • Generating clear and comprehensive calibration/maintenance records for traceability purposes.
  • Safety systems testing of Test & Measuring equipment in line with documented procedures.
  • Provide Technical support to facilitate the efficient servicing of STTE to enable production testing of hardware and repair phases of the contract. Assessment of related equipment issues directing support services to resolve equipment failures.
  • Represent Calibration department at Integrated Production Team meetings to provide technical information/advice when requested.
  • Test facility commissioning & acceptance, ensuring configuration control of equipment and facilities.
  • Perform Calibration, repair and installation of test equipment at the organisation and customer sites in the UK and Europe.

Role requirements (skills, training and qualifications)
Essential:

  • Modern Apprenticeship ESSENTIAL
  • HNC / HND ESSENTIAL
  • Experience and knowledge in repair down to component level required
  • Able to utilise instructions, handbooks, drawings or specifications to provide technical advice/guidance, fault finding and repairs down to component level.
  • Proactive attitude to daily tasking.
  • Innovative, team player who has a passion for calibration and maintenance activities.
  • Commitment and integrity.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to deal with multiple issues, tasks and priorities concurrently
  • Willingness to travel to the organisation & customer sites

Desirable:

  • Experience and knowledge in using RF test equipment desirable
  • Variety of test systems such as DIO, AIO, RF, temperature and communication systems beneficial
