Morson Edge are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our prestigious aerospace client based in Yeovil, Somerset.

Job

Purpose

  • To be the prime engineering working level focal point for a particular project or platform by:
  • together multi-functional support and engineering solutions.
  • To combine the above with the ability to work as part of the joint industry/Mo D team responsible for delivering all aspects of technical support.
  • Responsible for co-ordination and management of task and query responses to customer requested timelines.

Key accountabilities

  • During the design/modification process interacting directly with the designers providing the design context for their solutions and ensuring that the certification basis for the design is understood
  • Ensuring that certification compliance plans are created and satisfied as part of the design process
  • Solving design integration issues where more than one system is involved in the design
  • Applying the appropriate Configuration Management processes
  • Compiling material for PDR and CDR
  • Managing the drawing structure and the applicability of any modification to the fleet (including prototypes)
  • Assist in continuing airworthiness management by monitoring in-service arisings and assisting in any resulting investigations and design or inspection regime changes.
  • Preparing any necessary Service Bulletins/Engineering Technical Instructions and major repairs (in collaboration with CS&S-PSE) To minimise the technical response times of technical queries to achieve or exceed flying hour targets through driving Technically, Role Success will be measured against Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and your ability to provide engineering advice and solutions in response to customer requirements.

Skills, knowledge and experience required

  • Higher education approved STEM qualification.
  • Apprenticeship/HNC/HND/First degree level as a minimum or equivalent as recognised by professional accreditation schemes or equivalent level of experience in aerospace engineering.
  • Typically meets the requirements for registration as an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer with the engineering Council and preferably is a member of a relevant Professional Body.
  • High level of knowledge of aircraft MAA regulations.
  • Capability to autonomously work with external vendor’s and produce requirement specifications or statements of work
  • Knowledge of the Systems Engineer Process
  • Knowledge of the requirements management – ability to work in DOORS an advantage
  • Knowledge of the configuration management – ability to use SAP and advantage
  • Ability to review and critically assess own work and to peer review the work of others inside a small functional team ensuring that the resulting actions are implemented.
  • Experience of managing the interaction between related technical disciplines in a functional team is desirable.
  • Confidence and ability to challenge/ respond to technical/process issues and ability to interact effectively with customers and suppliers.
