We are recruiting for a SAP Data Integration Support professional to join a leading organisation within the rail industry on a contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a major SAP integration project, helping to ensure business‑critical data is accurate, consistent, and ready for successful migration.
This hybrid position offers a mix of home and office‑based working. There will be a requirement to work in client’s office based in Stockport and Manchester.
The Role
As a Temporary SAP Data Integration Support specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing, cleansing, and preparing business data ahead of SAP integration activities. Working closely with stakeholders across multiple departments, you will help improve data quality, identify inconsistencies, and support the successful migration of information into SAP. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and previous experience working with large datasets within an ERP, manufacturing, engineering, or supply chain environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, analyse, and improve the quality of existing business data.
- Cleanse, standardise, and validate records to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Support data mapping and migration activities for SAP integration.
- Identify and resolve missing, duplicate, or inaccurate information.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to verify and validate data requirements.
- Maintain trackers and documentation to monitor progress, issues, and resolutions.
- Assist in preparing master data and transactional data for upload into SAP.
- Support continuous improvements to data management processes and standards.
About You
- Previous experience working with SAP or supporting ERP implementation/migration projects.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, filtering, data validation, and data analysis techniques.
- Experience working with large datasets and database manipulation.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to data quality.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence working with cross‑functional teams.
Desirable Experience
- SAP implementation, ERP migration, or data cleansing project experience.
- Exposure to master data management, materials data, supplier data, purchase orders, inventory, or manufacturing/engineering datasets.
- Experience working within manufacturing, engineering, rail, or supply chain environments.
