Job Title: IT/Systems Service Support Administrator

Location: Morson HQ, Adamson House, Salford, M50 1RD

Reports to: IT Manager

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and organised IT/Systems Service Support Administrator to join our IT team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills and an interest in technology to support the day-to-day operations of our IT Service Desk.

You'll play a key role in ensuring IT support requests are managed efficiently, maintaining accurate system records, coordinating equipment and user accounts, and providing excellent customer service across the business.

This role would suit someone with previous administration experience within an IT environment or an individual looking to develop a career in IT support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the IT Service Desk and wider IT team.
  • Log, monitor and update IT support tickets within the Service Management system.
  • Ensure support requests are assigned, prioritised and progressed in line with agreed service levels.
  • Coordinate the onboarding and offboarding process, including user account creation, permissions and equipment allocation.
  • Maintain accurate records of IT assets, software licences and system documentation.
  • Arrange hardware orders, repairs, replacements and warranty returns.
  • Assist with setting up laptops, desktops, mobile devices and peripherals for new starters.
  • Liaise with third-party suppliers regarding support requests, maintenance and purchasing.
  • Produce reports on service desk performance, ticket volumes and asset management.
  • Support system upgrades, software deployments and IT projects through administrative coordination.
  • Maintain knowledge base articles, user guides and internal documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, security procedures and data protection requirements.
  • Provide excellent customer service, acting as a first point of contact for IT-related queries where appropriate.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in an administrative or service support role.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook and Word.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Experience working with ticketing or CRM systems.
  • Previous experience within an IT Service Desk or technical support environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory user administration.
  • Experience of IT asset management.
  • Understanding of ITIL principles.
  • Experience using ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, Freshservice or similar ticketing platforms.
