6 Month contract

About the Role

We are seeking a technically minded PMO professional to support the management and coordination of Digital Thread, Engineering IT integration and cross-domain system integration initiatives. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, technical teams, architects and external suppliers to help govern and deliver multiple initiatives connecting engineering platforms with enterprise systems.

This position suits someone who combines strong project coordination and PMO capability with enough technical understanding to operate confidently in a complex environment involving PLM, ALM, MBSE, requirements management, product safety and security, and integration technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate Digital Thread and system integration initiatives across multiple applications, domains and suppliers.
  • Maintain project plans, milestones, dependencies, actions, risks and issues.
  • Track activities and deliverables, proactively identifying delays, dependencies and critical topics.
  • Coordinate meetings and technical working sessions with internal teams, vendors and solution providers.
  • Support the definition and monitoring of integration roadmaps and implementation plans.
  • Manage actions arising from technical workshops, architecture discussions and project meetings through to closure.
  • Prepare project status reports, management presentations and steering committee materials.
  • Maintain structured documentation covering projects, decisions, interfaces, integrations and open topics.
  • Support the coordination of technical requirements across teams and applications.
  • Monitor supplier activities, commitments and deliverables.
  • Support governance of the application and integration landscape.
  • Help structure and maintain the Digital Thread initiative backlog and priorities.

Technical Environment

You will operate within a Digital Engineering ecosystem that may include PLM and ALM platforms, MBSE and systems engineering tools, requirements management, product security and product safety solutions, REST APIs, OSLC-based integrations, middleware and integration platforms.

Digital Thread initiatives may establish traceability and interoperability across requirements, system models, engineering data, product structures, software development, validation and test information. Experience with Teamcenter, IBM ELM/DOORS, MBSE tools, OSLC or comparable enterprise engineering environments would be advantageous.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Active SC clearance.
  • Demonstrable aerospace and defence experience, including delivery within MOD, Defence Digital or UK aerospace environments.
  • Previous experience in PMO, project coordination or technical project management.
  • Experience of complex IT or Engineering IT projects involving multiple systems and stakeholders.
  • Strong planning, tracking and organisational skills, with the ability to manage dependencies, risks, issues and action plans.
  • Ability to work effectively with technical teams, architects, business stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Good understanding of system integration concepts and application interfaces.
  • Ability to understand technical discussions and translate them into clear actions, plans and follow-ups.
  • Strong documentation and presentation skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
  • Fluent professional English.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience of Digital Thread or Digital Engineering initiatives.
  • Knowledge of PLM, ALM, MBSE or requirements management environments.
  • Knowledge of Teamcenter and/or IBM ELM/DOORS.
  • Understanding of REST APIs, OSLC, integration architectures and data flows.
  • Experience coordinating multiple suppliers or system integrators.
  • Experience in aerospace and defence, manufacturing or another complex engineering industry.
  • Basic understanding of enterprise architecture and system integration patterns.

About You

You will be proactive, structured and comfortable working autonomously. You will look beyond task administration to understand the context, challenge unclear information, identify dependencies and critical issues, and drive actions to closure. A software development background is not required, but you must be confident working with technical teams and discussing systems, integrations, interfaces and engineering applications.
