Due to continued growth and expansion, we are currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our clients existing team based in their West Yorkshire office.You will be working on a variety of railway civil engineering and general civil engineering schemes valued from roughly 300k up to 2.5M with duties consisting of:Develop client relationships by maintaining regular contact and meetingsMonitor contract costs against agreed budgetsMonitor contract compliance against statutory requirements, ensuring all contract correspondence is recordedSupply relevant commercial information and reports to the Senior QS and Commercial Manager for review, such as CVR’s, periodic valuations/ applications and cash flow forecasting.Identify potential financial risks and evaluate options to mitigate theseProduce, submit and agree final accounts in accordance with contractual requirementsLiaise with the Supply Chain for the procurement, negotiation and placing of subcontract and supplier ordersOversee the procedures for certification of contract payments/variations and settle final accounts to sub-contractors, in line with agreed terms and conditionsPerson Specification:The perfect candidate will have:BSc Quantity Surveying (or similar) - EssentialA minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working within a contracting environment - EssentialThe ability to work on own initiative and unsupervised - EssentialGeneral knowledge of NEC forms of contract - DesirableExperience with Civil Engineering in the Rail Sector - DesirableThe ability to manage a fast paced, high volume turnover of orders, with high standards of project performance and customer satisfactionExcellent communication skills and the confidence to engage with stakeholdersAn enthusiastic attitude and ability to hit the ground runningPrioritises well and works effectively to deadlinesHigh attention to detailLocation: Leeds, West Yorkshire, EnglandSalary: 40k - 55k per year + NoneCategoryCivil EngineeringSector:Rail and TransportationContract type PermanentConsultant: Jon Sheridan
