Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Senior MEP Estimator to join a growing M&E contractor based in Pulborough. This role requires a minimum of three days per week in the office, with the flexibility of two days working from home or client sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating self-delivery M&E projects, primarily within the private sector, with enquiries coming from consultants at early design stages (Stage 1/2). Typical projects range around £500k, with recent wins up to £950k, such as the removal of a chiller unit and installation of a heat pump in a large office building.
The role demands a proactive approach to developing solutions alongside clients, including site visits to refine project scopes. Candidates should come from a Tier 2 or Tier 3 M&E contractor background, accustomed to being heavily involved in projects as they progress to site delivery. An understanding of Artificial Intelligence and its benefits in the construction or estimating process would be advantageous.
This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with an experienced senior figure with over 20 years in the business, contributing to the company’s growth and quickly becoming a senior team member.
Skills:
- Proven experience in M&E estimating for self-delivery projects
- Strong client engagement and solution development skills
- Ability to interpret and develop project scopes from early-stage consultant enquiries
- Hands-on approach with willingness to visit sites
- Experience working within Tier 2 or Tier 3 M&E contracting environments
- Understanding of AI applications and benefits in estimating or project delivery
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- Commercial awareness and risk assessment capability
- Collaborative team player with leadership potential

Certifications & Standards:
- Relevant industry qualifications or experience in M&E contracting
