Business Analyst
Location: Preston / Hybrid.
Contract: Initial 12-month contract.
About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a major transformation and delivery programme within a complex engineering environment. This role will suit someone who can work confidently with stakeholders, analyse business needs, and translate requirements into clear, practical outputs that support successful delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand business processes, challenges, and objectives.
- Gather, document, and manage business and functional requirements.
- Analyse existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support the development of business cases, options analysis, and change documentation.
- Facilitate workshops, meetings, and stakeholder engagement sessions.
- Produce clear documentation, including process maps, requirements specifications, and reports.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure requirements are understood and delivered effectively.
- Support testing, implementation, and transition activities where required.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience as a Business Analyst within a complex project or programme environment.
- Strong requirements gathering, process mapping, and documentation skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to translate business needs into clear requirements and actionable deliverables.
- Experience working in engineering, defence, manufacturing, infrastructure, or similarly regulated environments would be advantageous.
- Confident using standard business analysis tools and techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Due to the urgent nature of this role, candidates will require SC Security Clearance.
